On June 24, Wagner PMC leader Yevgeny Prigozhin announced his troops are marching from Rostov-on-Don in the south of Russia on Moscow, to take down the country’s military command. Vladimir Putin accused him of treason, a criminal case was initiated, but the Wagner column kept moving, meeting practically no resistance, until the evening. During the day, Russia’s capital was preparing: museums and shopping malls were evacuated, the Red Square was closed. By the end of the day, Prigozhin called off his troops. Here are some mundane yet eerie scenes from the Russian capital today.
